Child Centered Choices

exists to support the adults who show up for children every day - especially when family life is complicated, emotional or changing fast.

Our work is rooted in helping step-parents grow into Wayparents: adults who understand the unique position of joining a family from the outside, and who want to build trust, connection, and confidence without losing themselves in the process. We coach step-parents to lead with steadiness, perspective, and care — learning how to support children at different ages, communicate through emotional strain, and create homes where kids feel safe, seen, and grounded.

We also support parents and blended families as they navigate big transitions. That means practical tools, real-life coaching, and clear frameworks for bonding, boundaries, and emotional regulation — not perfection, not control, and not taking sides. Just healthier patterns that protect children while giving adults room to grow.

When families are preparing for mediation or legal processes, we offer Discovery Triage — a structured, child-centered way to organize information, clarify priorities, and articulate what’s truly in the best interest of the child. This process helps reduce overwhelm, lower emotional and financial costs, and create clearer communication for mediators, attorneys, CFIs, PCDMs, and PREs. No legal advice — just clarity, structure, and readiness.

At the heart of CCC is a simple belief:
When adults are supported, children thrive.

Our goal isn’t to fix families — it’s to help one overwhelmed household become two healthier, more respectful ones. Ones where children are protected emotionally, and adults are given the tools to heal, take responsibility, and move forward with intention.

That’s what Wayparenting is about.

Wayparent Coaching
$2,275.00

This is for the step-parent who’s ready to build a new foundation.

Wayparent Coaching is a structured 1:1 coaching experience where we work together over time — not just to understand what’s happening, but to practice new responses and build new habits.

Each session is a mix of support and strategy: we’ll talk through what’s real in your life, run through scenarios, and build homework that helps you keep momentum between sessions. You can use sessions weekly, or pace them in a way that works for your life.

This is for you if…

  • You want accountability and steady support

  • You want to practice communication and boundaries in real situations

  • You’re ready to try new approaches between sessions

Discovery Triage - Mediators
$485.00

Discovery Triage provides mediators with a concise, issues-oriented client report outlining key concerns, relevant background, emotional dynamics, and practical priorities. The resulting dossier supports more efficient session preparation, clarifies each party’s underlying interests, and enhances the mediator’s ability to guide structured, productive dialogue. This service is designed to streamline early-stage understanding, reduce time spent on narrative reconstruction, and support a more focused, resolution-driven mediation process.

Wayparent Guided Program
$4,140.00

This is the all-in option — not because you’re dramatic, but because your family dynamic is complex enough to deserve real structure.

This program supports the step-parent and the partner together, so you’re not trying to carry the whole emotional load alone. We’ll work through the step-parent’s journey directly, and we’ll also bring the partner in as a steady support — because a step-parent shouldn’t have to be both the one struggling and the one leading.

You’ll get 12 coaching sessions, a guided workbook customized to your family dynamics, and a Next Steps guide at the end so you don’t fall off a cliff when sessions stop.

This is for you if…

  • You want alignment as a couple, not just insight as an individual

  • You want structure that’s customized to your family’s reality

  • You want a clear path forward you can keep using long-term

This isn’t for you if…

  • One partner isn’t willing to participate in good faith

  • You’re looking for a referee, legal advice, or mediation

  • There are safety concerns or active abuse (different support comes first)

Who we are

Brittany Pace is the heart behind Child Centered Choices, a resource created to support parents, stepparents, and blended families through the emotional complexity of divorce, co-parenting, custody conflict, and stepfamily life.

With more than 20 years of lived experience as a stepparent, and as a biological mother herself, Brittany understands the differences, tensions, and emotional layers that can exist inside blended families from more than one side of the story. Her own family’s custody journey lasted roughly 12 years, giving her a deeply personal understanding of how long, exhausting, and emotionally complicated these situations can become for both adults and children.

Along the way, Brittany spent years independently studying family law, mediation, co-parenting dynamics, and child-centered decision making so she could speak more responsibly and accurately to the experiences of stepparents and families navigating these systems.

Brittany holds a degree in psychology and is a certified life coach, peer recovery coach, and trauma-informed care practitioner. She has also completed suicide prevention training and is currently working toward certification as a neuroscience coach. Her commitment to continued learning reflects her desire to be a more informed, grounded, and whole resource for the families she serves.

Beyond her professional training, Brittany has spent years volunteering with children and families through schools, churches, camps, PTOs, and event committees, including serving as an ASL interpreter at a camp for deaf children and their parents. These experiences have shaped her deep respect for the emotional world of children and her ongoing desire to support the healthy growth and development of each child with humility, care, and as little ego as possible.

Through Child Centered Choices, Brittany creates practical, supportive guides that help families slow down, better understand the child’s experience, and make choices that protect their emotional safety.

Her voice is real, grounded, and deeply human, like a trusted friend helping you pause before you respond.
